Yonatan is a former member of an elite IDF unit (669). He is the founder and leader of the “Citizen Defenders Project”. He coordinates with authorities and security forces as well as supervises the recruiting, equipping, and training of armed volunteers.
On October 7th 2023, thousands of terrorists from Gaza stormed and destroyed nearby communities, murdering and taking hostages at will. But in Ein Habesor, something very different happened: Ordinary citizens armed with their personal firearms managed to fight and repel waves of heavily armed terrorists. Their actions saved their entire village from certain massacre.
Yonatan served in a US Army Special Operations unit. He brings global operational experience and works on gaining support from Jewish communities worldwide.
